Product Description
His talent was unbounded -- a raw force that commanded attention and respect. His death was tragic -- a violent homage to the power of his voice. His legacy is indomitable -- as vibrant and alive today as it has ever been. Tupac Shakur's most intimate and honest thoughts were uncovered only after his death with the instant classic The Rose That Grew from Concrete. For the first time in paperback, this collection of deeply personal poetry is a mirror into the legendary artist's enigmatic world and its many contradictions. Written in his own hand from the time he was nineteen, these seventy-two poems embrace his spirit, his energy -- and his ultimate message of hope.

Deep and Meaningful August 16, 2010 Leslie A. Faulds (Pittsburgh, PA) I think this is a great book of Tupac's deepest thoughts and words. It really does show a whole different side of him and his life. I really love this book, it really makes me stop and think after I read some of his poems.
Great Book July 2, 2010 Yancy Bought this book for my little sister and loved it myself. Recommended to any Tupac fans out there!
The Rose that Grew from Concrete December 20, 2009 Mark A. Cuenca This collection of poetry is amazing. Tupac was not always right, but he was always honest - honest in his successes as well as his failures. No other book captures the brilliant light and suffocating darkness of the human soul as candidly as "The Rose that Grew from Concrete."
For 2pac December 19, 2009 Kid Koopa (Ann Arbor, MI) I was already a massive 2Pac fan, but after reading this book I found greater appreciation for this late genius. Tupac Amaru Shakur is a well known musical artist, but a seldom appreciated human being. This collection of poems brings to light his genius and in my opinion sets him among the greatest thinkers of all time. It is unfortunate that he was not and is still not listened to and appreciated. His work is not massively influential because many people dismiss his work on face value. He never sought the media's approval and has remained a true gem for true thinkers around the world. Sit back with your favorite 2Pac tracks playing and read these poems, it will prove to be a great experience.
A must-have for any Tupac fans. October 16, 2009 Jodi (Thornton, CO) This was a gift for my younger brother. I've read this before and enjoyed it. He thought it was a great gift and loved it.
